After a soul-filling trip to the US, I made my way back across the ocean with just Ray and Willa. We landed on a Thursday and dove right into the girls’ activities. IronKids was upon us again and we needed to go downtown on Friday to get Willa signed up and ready to go early Saturday. Ray and I were a little loopy with jet lag, but we cheered her on admirably. Even more admirably… she did it in the cold rain just as jet lagged as the rest of us!!

Brian and Gemma returned a few days later once her fever passed and she was feeling strong enough to make the trip. We had a bit all together before Brian was off to Papua New Guinea to do some prep work with one of our newer teams. While he was gone we got up later than usual to continue gently readjusting our days and nights. The woods are not woods in Far North Queensland, it is a jungle, but the restorative power of God’s creation is the same all over the world. The weather is just perfect right now at any time of the day, so we spent as much time as we could on walks with Tumtum soaking in the sun and crisp air. Having peaceful, slow school days full of the “not woods” was just what we needed as we found our feet and settled emotions here again!
